Subject: I have been thinking about...

many of the issues that we face as a state and then as a nation. I don't have a problem with Saddam being sentenced by HIS OWN people, but I would if he were here in the US and I am bothered because while he is over in Iraq, he is the sacrificial lamb for bin Laden.

Now that Bush has signed the Enemy Combatant's bill, I am livid. For several reasons. One, that we would be better off restricting immigration and securing our borders. US policy abroad is what it is, and despite what I have written and risked, has not changed. But with this new law, and from what little analysis I have been able to read of it, our government has betrayed us totally.

I say this because had we spent time securing our borders
this law would not have been necessary. Had we spent time
getting Osama we would not be in this spot now. Bin Laden was exiled from Saudi Arabia, but he was not executed. In this way the Saudis can say they can't control him and he has a free reign...a rogue. We have not caught bin Laden.
That has always rankled me that with all the capability we have, we can't catch a terrorist? I seriously doubt he holds the hearts and minds of his followers, but I also believe too that there is a conspiracy, always has been, to destroy our freedom.

It has had different names over the years, but it has made strange bedfellows. The current face is Islam...they have always had extremists, but never this well funded. And it is who is behind them that makes for the headlines.

No, I do not think of Islam as the religion of peace. Not when infanticide is still practiced. Not when extremists insist that only the blood of the infidel will purge our sins. We are living where we have knowledge of Christ and His divinity is denied by them. It is convert or die. I do not deny that we have a corrupt nation, but it doesn't surprise me that peace has been taken from the earth because we have turned our backs on God. That should worry us more than anything else anyone else can do or say.

We have broken our faith with Him.
