My post speaking of school prayer was in reference to the court case involving prayer at school, at football games (if I recall). If I'm understanding you correctly, we agree there need be no mandated school prayer at public schools.

I do not object to any student or school member, employee or passerby praying at any school. But what to do when special needs for prayer are in order? I personally do not object but can envision the difficulties it may bring to the school system.

To end, when you mention personal prayer and God SHOULD be encouraged, I'm also guessing you mean that within the context of schools. So that takes me back to my posting above. With differences among Christians, for starters, that still would seem to hold the opportunity for conflict (the antithesis of prayerfulness). Whose God, and which version of God within Christianity?
