Instead of blending with the community and adopting the communties values, they are part of a critical mass that can ignore the values and expectations of the community and abide by their own.

Thankfully I know you're not a racist, right?

Did you catch ABC's 20/20 program last night? This week included the story of a couple having sneaked in from Mexico, illegally, never having taken ten cents in assistance. Their children include one son having graduated from MIT, an aeronautical engineer with a well-known defense contractor, a daughter having graduated from a California State University, pursuing a career. Their youngest is still in college, in California.

When factory and manufacturing jobs dried up, their back-up plan remained for sifting through others' garbage dumpsters for glass, plastic and aluminum to recycle for nickels. When their oldest son was at MIT his food and clothing costs were covered this way.

This is not a solution I propose for illegal immigration. But there is another more compassionate view to this, in my opinion, than to view illegals as a bunch of gang-banging gangsters outside your community's values!
