Subject: I see several levels to this topic

For starters:

1. The Constitution as it was written (stands?)
2. The role of church
3. The role of government
3. The principles held by church and government
4. The respect of each for the other, for their unique roles
5. The adherence to their roles (under the Constitution or otherwise
5. The encroachment of one into/onto the other

I don't wish to disagree there may be something wrong within this mix, TTB. For now I'm okay saying what appears to me to be trespasses. My contemplation goes to all churches and what is transpiring today within our government.

In discussions like this we each bring personal perspectives to the table, along with a willingness to state, debate, stretch and think. In no way do I post here to have you or another think like me. There's much richness to be gained within these sorts of discussions.

Where you speak of the government being out to destroy religion I think of our personal perspectives (not you and not me, but in the larger sense). Numbers are saying the converse is true, i.e., that government is out to create (or at least overly influenced and backed by) a Christian right theocracy.

So here's to more exchanges between and among us as we flesh this out.

Thanks for the reply.
