Subject: My thinking...

My opinion on abortion is much like my opinion on gay marriage. First point of mine is that I don't believe either should be outlawed. Second point is that they canNOT be accepted, and the fastest way to accept something is to legalize it. Once something is legalized, it slowly becomes instilled in common law and the mores of a society ( I think the word is mores... ) So where do we go from here, not believe it should be banned and not thinking it should be legal? That's the question I feel the LP answers better than anyone. IGNORE the issue ( meaning the government ). Not only does this keep the power from the government, but the strong, typical pro-lifers will probably get ticked off and start their own campagnes to fight it, which I feel will be most effective! Do you think people are going to spend spare time fighting abortion if its illegal? They view that as not having to fight.

But actually, I do understand where Kathy is coming from as well and I see it as a very valid point. But my wondering comes from how it would be enforced. Does anyone want to tackle that question? How about pregnancy licenses? I think it sounds quite fun! Heck, charge $150 for one, too! LOL... J/K... perhaps...

Another reason I would be in favor of 'ignoring' the issue in government has to do with this issue being so heated. How ugly would things between entities and individuals get?

Anyways, just as with gay marriage, if the choice is between accepting it or banning it, I'll vote to ban it any day. But I would be 'settling' on a lesser solution and I would not stop, before I die, until I got to see my feelings on it come to pass...

Overall, I'm not 100% decided on the issue yet. However, whichever way I decide, I would still probably support the LP over all others, and their philosophy above all.
