Subject: A lot of it depends on

I think a lot of it depends on whether or not you know how to live without it.

For example, if something happens so that you can't go to a restaurant or a store for food, are you fully able and knowledgeable enough to get food? What if it lasts for years? Are you able to grow and hunt your own food to survive? I think as long as you know what you might have to do in the event of an emergency, then buying fancy foods and going to nice restaurants are certainly no big deal.

The same could go with firearms. If you are in a situation where you do not have them, but need to defend your life, are you knowlegdeable and capable of doing it?

When it comes to something like a digital camera... ok, lets say that someone broke into your home and a large chase/struggle ensued, where you escaped alright, but the burglar got away. Do you know enough about the camera, its details, and its abilities to have been able to snap a picture of the man, and are you able to take it down to the police station or someplace like that, upload the pictures and show them to the police? Did you think to upload them on a backup computer first in case the camera gets 'lost' in evidence?

Let's say you hire a gardener or groundskeeper. Did you hire him to come once a week to help you out? Or, did you hire him so that you won't have to worry about it? Are you capable of keeping the grounds if he cannot show? What are you doing while he is out working? Cooking? At work? Watching Oprah?

Can you afford these luxuries?

There's a lot to think about, I suppose.
