Martial law? No freaking way. There are no circumstances in which I would favor it. I don't even consider it.

Government aid....... isn't that one of the very few things the government should be involved with??? I would be severely ticked off if the federal government DIDN"T help out.

There are a few ways to raise money for disaster relief if you're the government, without taxing anyone at all.

We all know those tickets that groups like boy scouts sell... buy one for a dollar, then you get a dollar back at a place like Subway. Sell those! They're good for business and good business means more tax dollars to the government to totally reimburse anything sold.

Or you could do a dollar-for-dollar tax credit to any person or business who donates money. If you donate $100, you get $100 at tax time! If all is not well, give SOMETHING back at tax time......... $80, $50, even $20!

Of course, deterring a majority of the population away from bearing arms doesn't help those left in the city, now does it? Madmen are out looting, raping, and killing with unregistered weapons, while good people are left for the madmen to use how they wish.

There have been a lot of ridiculous pointing of fingers in this disaster..... such as SUV's, environmental policy, TERRORISM, the Russians..... but I'll stick with routine and point a finger at the one source of all failure..... the government! They didn't cause the hurricane ( If they did, then we should all be scared, I think.......LOL ) but they have been on the ball as far as providing with all the means to make this as bad as possible. Heil congress!
