Subject: I Try To Buy Local....
In reply to: KathyT 's message, "So, are you guys as ticked about CAFTA as I am?" on 09:50:32 07/28/05 Thu

for food that is and grow and preserve what I can, but I do drive a Volvo (I'm sorry, I love my Volvo)!!!! I do get irritated at all of the imported stuff. The problem isn't just here though. Just before I left Germany, I remember looking for something specific and when I found it, flipped it over and saw, "Made in China" on it. I think that the unions have largely done us in. Most people aren't going to pay $50 for a pair of American made jeans, when they can get the same thing foreign made for $20. The whole thing makes me mad. I shop at Salvation Army or make my stuff...hardly buy anything new anymore. I guess I am rambling here, but to be truthful, I haven't read much about CAFTA. Perhaps I need to.
