but... (you knew there was going to be a but...didn't you :)...), I would think that the terrorists would look to recruit white moms with children in tow too. So far that hasn't happened. I wonder if they have tried (that's likely a dumb question). I guess that fact remains (at this point however) the lists of "concerns" are mainly younger men (the under 50 crowd) of middle eastern men. That of course is for outside terroristic activity. I don't know of any terroristic activity around the world recently that has been Al Quaida linked that has been carried out by someone other than a person who fits that profile. I know in Israel, some of the other groups have used some women. Now on a domestic level, you are very correct. Most of the domestic problems of terror have been caused by white men (and some women). I am thinking primarily of the anti abortion/animal rights/Timothy McVeigh types.

I would agree that the Mexican border IS a larger problem than the Canadian border...but since I am just next door to it (Canada), I get the stories that happen here more readily. Canada is definately more with it in border concerns. I still have a number of amusing Canadian border crossing stories in my experiences!!!!! None of them involved a border official who was too lax!!!!! The last one grilled me on my husband's military movements which I found VERY odd. He wasn't even in the car!!!!!!

You bring up a good point that people of any nationality can be a problem and all have people that are good. I guess I'll ask again...what is a better way to keep Al Quada type people who are bent to do mischief here OUT of this country, if not profiling, to avoid us ALL having to give up our rights???
