Did your vet find mites for sure when the skin scraping was done? The best thing you can do may be to go to a vet dermatolgist to get to the bottom of the problem. Dogs can cause oozing sores by constant licking for different reasons. The dermatologist is more expensive initially but if you can resolve the problem, it is money well spent.
It can indeed have an psychological or emotional cause if it is a lick granuloma.
Good luck. I know this is a very frustrating problem. You may also want to consult a holistic vet if you have one in your area to work with at the same time as your regular vet. They often have a little different view and the two different paths of medicine can work very well together to the benefit of the patient.
