What in the world is the purpose of the grate? Guessing that it is wide so the poop falls thru it but I was under the assumption that you put litter in it so you wouldn't have to worry about that. Guess I wasn't really aware how it all works.

Thanks for the heads up. My dogs aren't as little as yours right now but I do have two that are on the small/slight side. Anorexia dog probably wouldn't appreciate the grating either. She can't be more than 7lbs soaking wet but haven't got her into the vet yet. I took in 3 of my brother-in-law's dogs after he passed away and none of them have seen a vet since 2000/2001, well Gus did but that was for back surgery and they didn't vaccinate him at the time.
