Hi people
My 13 month old Vivante XL has just died. For several weeks it has been difficult to turn it on. It would only boot every fourth or fifth time if lucky. Usually the light on the cd drive would come on briefly and you could hear something happening inside, but the screen remained blank so you'd have to try again. Several days ago it became 10 to 15 tries were necessary. Now it won't start at all. Hence my question, could this be a cmos battery in need of replacement? I ask because my time/date have never been reliable and I thought that was an indicator of a faulty cmos battery...
On a related matter. Trent mentioned that there were two versions of this machine. It would appear by machine is the older version because I can't see the battery under the ram cover. Does this mean I have to send the machine to AESusa in California just to have a battery replaced?
Thanks everyone
Robert
