Subject: Does an XL take a 12.5 mm drive?

Hi everyone!

The hard disk in my XL recently bit the big one, and I am searching for a replacement. I have found a great deal on a Hitachi 10GB drive, but it is 12.5 mm high. From my own measurements of the space inside my machine, it looks like that might just *barely* fit in there, even though the original drive (also a Hitachi, don't know if that was standard) was only 9.5 mm. Anyone have any experiences with trying to put a larger drive in their XL? I'd hate to order the drive and then find out it barely doesn't fit; the frame of the "9.5 mm" drive is slightly taller than 9.5 mm, and I am wondering if something similar happens with the 12.5 mm version. I'm also wondering about ventilation.

Many thanks in advance!

- Shawn
