I was just about to update my Vivante XL to 1.9n. I got the same message from Sigma Designs. The reason I want to upgrade the drivers is because with certain DVD's I get a strange distortion when the movie scenes that are dark or dim. (for instance in a water scene in Ladyhawk I cannot even make out the detail of Matthew Broderick when he is swimming out of the prison sewers). Do you have this problem?

Did you copy the *.inf file from C & T into the root directory that came with the zip file that Sigma sent? This is what the tech support told me:

"The card is an OEM product. The OEM is responsible for the support. We will send you the driver and we are not responsible if they didn't work for you.
The driver is for region 1 if you are in different region pls. let us know to send you the driver for your region.
<>
In order to install the drivers, you need to copy the INF line from the folder that have the name of one of the supported VGA cards in the root directory of the driver disk. We do not know the chipset of the VGA card on your laptop. You have to find out which inf file to move to the root directory. Next the application.

Thanks,"

Also, maybe the new C&T drivers would help make these DVD drivers work? The new CT drivers don't work with 1.8.

I would appreciate it if you would let me know if you get everything working again with these drivers. I will wait for your response before I try and upgrade to v 1.9n (if you can't get things back then I won't even attempt it).
