Subject: Royal Liverpool Seamen's Orphanage

To Ron Parsons,Jean Black and John Long:-Howdy, my name is Peter Arthur and I live in Tumby Bay South Australia. I must apologise to you all for not picking up your messages from the Training Ships Website before now but to tell you the truth I never expected to hear from anyone through that medium. I suppose I was at the Orphanage well before any of you arrived on the scene. I went there in March 1940 and left in March 1947 to go to Bootle Tech. According to the dates you have given I was still there when you were.I'm afraid my memory doesn't allow me remember everyone but now and again a name will crop up and rings a bell. You reckon I painted a rosy picture Ron, well again time and age tend to ease the painful memories to a certain extent. Another lad from my time George Bennett has written a book on his version of life at the Orphanage called "With no regrets".It is a privately printed book about 50 odd pages so if you know any Old Boys who may have a copy it's well worth a read. Anyway folks I don't know how much space we are allowed to answer letters so I'll close off by saying thanks for the messages Fell free to email me if you wish to -be pleased to hear from you Regards Pete Arthur
