The Chinese have occupied my attention for quite awhile now. They have over a billion people and they're making the transition from the shithole Third World to being a equal of the United States. This will have a terminal impact not only on Earth's resources as 200-500 million Chinese become as affluent as your average American, but on the enviroment as China's voraciousness causes resource exploitation enough to trash ecosystems worldwide... which will cause more resource shortages and eventually war as the nations battle each other for survival.

Furthermore, I have a fear that the Chinese military is feigning weakness, particularly in their nuclear arsenal. One time a western aerospace engineer was visiting their space booster manufacturing facility that produces the same rocket known as the D-5 that can reach the continental US. He reported that for every D-5 earmarked for boosting western commercial satellites, SIX were set aside.

Now why would you set aside six out of every seven rockets aside after you fulfill your orders for launching satellites except to mount nuclear weapons on them?

China has had the bomb for thirty years. They've had the D-5 design for about twenty. They have a installation in North China that has thousands of miles of tunnels under a gigantic rock plateau, and yet they claim only to have 30 nuclear weapons. What is worse, they have fully exploited the Cold War, Globalization by the megacorporations and the Clinton Administration to modernize against a day where they can show their hand.

That hand will be shown in Taiwan as Bush will upgrade their armamments. We are regrettably exposed politically and militarily there as much as we are in Israel, and while the Arabs MAY have nuclear weapons, the Chinese CERTAINLY have them and may surprise us even with their conventional weapons. When the Chinese leadership shows their hand they will not do it unless they feel victory is assured.

And that is the crux of the problem, as the Chinese leadership whips up Chinese pride into a war frenzy. The Chinese leadership came of age during a time when China was at the mercy of everyone around them, and knowing Chinese pride in their culture the direction these men took is the only logical one they could have. Now, China has power-more power than the West reckons they have. And they shall use it one day to make China the ruler of the world. They are truly, even more than America with our neo-colonialistic economic stranglehold over the global economy the last imperialistic power. They will one day make their move which is why eliminating their leadership is the only option left to avoid catastrophe. Unfortunatly that is a political impossibility for the West, and would be even if the old white ceo's who run the megacorporations and have a stranglehold on American Democracy could see the dangers of a imperialistic Red China.
