Subject: Arnold cruising to victory in California

4:10 PM on election day and its beginning to shape up like a rout for Davis and a big victory for Arnold. There is a record voter turnout estimated at 60-65%. Exit polls show a 75% disapproval rating for Davis.

The Los Angeles Times absolutely discredited itself in this election by bitterly and blatantly attacking Arnold. The Times will never be the same because of the hatred it aroused against itself. The Times was vile, filthy, and extreme. It proved that there is a biased liberal media that is every bit as corrupt and partisan as Fox News and Rush.

There is a backlash in CA against political corruption. It is not a liberal/conservative issue as the Rushaddict has tried to paint it. Arnold won because he is establishment Hollywood and Hollywood is California.

Arnold's govenorship will be a stealth Pete Wilson rule. Pete Wilson was CA's govenor from 1990-1998 and did a fairly good job except for one steep tax increase in 1990. Wilson and his old campaign team worked for Arnold and I think that Pete Wilson will be appointed as an interim Chief of Staff to Arnold.

What is interesting is that Arnold pointedly refused to have Bush come out here and appear with him. And Bush kept his distance and said it was a CA matter. Nevertheless, Bush spoke warmly of Arnold and said that he would make a good governor. Arnold will now meet with Bush to speak on behalf of CA.

I wonder if Arnold will snub Rush's request for an interview. There is a possibility that Arnold could refuse an interview to send a signal that Rush is poison. I don't think he will because he doesn't want to alienate conservatives in his own party.

So we have Arnold and he was elected as a populist governor much more so than for any party affiliation. I say this because the recall was a people's revolt against corruption and ineptitude in Sacramento. If Arnold follows Wilson's advice, CA will be put back into shape. Given the rage of voters, it is unlikely that there will be any attempt to frustrate or embarrass Arnold on the part of the Dems.
