But seriuosly, am I the only one that gets a serious sadism vibe from some folks in the anti-family planning camp? I can totally see them thinking, "Women started getting all uppity after they stopped dying in childbirth on a regular basis, so let's keep those heathens in Africa and China under the tyranny of their own bodies, the way Gawd intended." They get off on the idea that sexuality can bring on a blood-soaked, painful death to women.

That's why I don't have a whole lot of paitence with the developing world contingent of the Anglican union raising a stink over Rev. Gene Robinson being made a bishop. Get the 2x4 out of your eye before bitching about the speck of lint in someone else's. I have yet to hear of anyone outside of underfunded women's groups taking on the culture of male sexual privilege that is leading to HIV spreading like a prarie fire in parts of Africa. Why aren't they as pissed off at women being raped and sexually mutilated in the Congo as they are with Bishop Robinson and his partner do in private?
