... Makes me glad that when I was a teenager, (1988-1993) adults just thought we were lazy. I couldn't help but be reminded of Columbine, where cops were seen playing pocket pool outside of the school while the dynamic duo was shooting people, but then shoved M-16s in the faces of shell-shocked students as they fled the building. Do nothing against on armed opponent, but wave your Smith & Wesson penis surrogate in the face of the unarmed, Rambo-style to make soccer moms go all moist. Yeah, a action-movie style drug raid is a great thing to do to members of the Columbine generation.

I'm not kidding when I say that. In the fall of 1996, a young woman with a known history of mental problems walked onto the Penn State main campus with a rifle, crawled under the bushes that used to grow at the back of the student union, and opened fire on the big lawn that was located there. I was in the student union building when it happened, and walked right past the bush the she was in not 20 minutes before. One year later, the sororites that use the student union lawn to celebrate the end of the rushing season set off fireworks. I was in my dorm room (which sits on the lawn) and nearly crapped my pants.

Gestapo tactics in schools are nothing new; Drug-sniffing dogs have been used against kindergarteners, in which the following incident occured:

In at least one instance, the ACLU complaint said, the dog escaped its leash in a kindergarten class and chased students around the room. Some students had been traumatized by previous dog attacks and one young girl still has the scars of a previous attack on her face. Many began crying and trembling and at least one urinated involuntarily.

When you are 5 years old, a German shepard is not a dog, it a creature bigger than you, with really big teeth that wants to eat you.

I don't really understand the white-knuckled fear and loathing that has been loaded onto teenagers for the past 20 years, usually by Baby Boomers that will go on at length about how their parents didn't understand them; "Never Trust Anyone Over 30" has become "Never Trust Anyone Under 30", and no-one notices the hypocrisy.
