First a few corrections. I don't understand why Harm would say "I think the ship your household, car, and stuff." Harm has been in the Navy for years. I am sure he transferred at least once. The service takes care of EVERYTHING. I transferred from Hawaii to London and back. They (the Navy even though I'm CG) shipped my car and came in and packed all my stuff up and shipped it to London. They assisted in finding me a place to live and I got lots of money because it was expensive. You don't want to pack your own stuff, 'cause then the gov't isn't responsible if it breaks in transit.

Also, I don't think they would have wanted Bud to transfer to London. Most services discourage couples with more than 3 kids from transferring overseas. It is hard to get gov't housing for families with 4 kids. It is also expensive if you have a large family and alot run into financial difficulty and end up having to return early.

Now the ending. Every one is right, why did they waste time on Vic. I am sure it was supposed to be used to set up the spin off by making Vic a better person and Mac to change her mind about taking him to SD. Not sure when they filmed and when they knew it was the last show, but they could have cut that when they found out and expanded the original people and how they react to the changes. And of course more of Harm and Mac celebrating their engagement.

Not sure how the flip of the coin was leaving it to fate. Harm looked ready to give up all for Mac but not sure Mac felt the same. But, she did show up in civilian clothes and he was in uniform. Also, Harm should have had enough time that he could retire with full benefits. After 15 years, you don't give it all up with nothing if staying in to hit 20 is within sight.

So if Mac did give up SD, did Sturgis get it? Or did he go to London?

In the end, I say they got married, Harm stayed in DC to hit 20, retired and moved to SD to be with Mac. Who also stayed in the Marines long enough retire at 20. 10 years from now, Harm has been elected to Congress and Mac is a Lobbiest for FRA. They bought a house just down the road from Bud and Harriet and have adopted 3 other kids.

And they lived happily ever after on O6 and O5 retirement pay.
