I've thought about this for a while, wondering why, with all the legitimate disappointment that I and others have felt about the amount of time spent on Harm, Mac, and Harm/Mac scenes in the finale, why I'm still so happy. And I realised that I don't want to waste my time being sad about the could have been's, because I recognize what we were given.

After DPB blatantly admitted to diminishing Harm's role in the show, and planning to replace him. And after making changes to Mac's character that were not always palatable, simply to further a sophomoric plot line, we were given everything we ever asked for. Bottom line, Harm was given his promotion, his own command, his daughter, and the love of his life, in the space of a day. Bottom line, Mac was given her own command, a career boost, her dream of a family, and the love of her life in the space of a day. How incredible is that! I'm not going to sit here and complain about the time it took to see my favorite character's dreams be handed to them on silver platter. I'm just going to revel, just as we saw them doing, in the fact that their dreams have come true. That's more than I ever thought I would see, and only what they have deserved for so long.

I loved that Harm and Mac were in character and sweet with each other the entire time.

I loved that they equally yearned for each other, equally wanted each other.

I loved that Mac took Harm up on coming to him when she was ready.

I loved that Harm grabbed the opportunity when she handed it to him.

I LOVED seeing them so happy and celebrating their engagement, displaying affection in public, being there together, in love, and willing and able to show it.

What an incredible thing to witness after all that's been said and done between them. I won't diminish the value of this miracle, by wishing we had more minutes to witness it. I'll appreciate it, as it is.
