LOL! My parents had at least one teenager at home for 17 years straight. It didn't seem to put a damper on their spontaneity. LOL! We were always telling them to get a room. But seriously, I don't mind that Harm and Mac have Mattie to care for, if they had their druthers, they would have had a newborn to care for by now anyway. At least Mattie can aid in her own care, and sleep through the night. (NT) -- Theresa, 13:35:17 05/02/05 Mon

Well - we know she's awake and the doctor is hoping she'll be able to at least scratch her nose someday. LOL. Also- I'm pretty sure, as long as she's off a respirator, she can be transported. Especially through the military.. they ship stable but injured kids home all the time.. they even ship critical but stable to Germany more often.. Whatever treatment she's going to get here in the states she can get in England.... and Harm did comment casually he wasn't leaving without her... so - I guess wherever they go... they're one big happy family.. I didn't want the Mattie story to end with her being severly injured with the possibility of never fully recovering. I didn't see the sense in that. But as that is what happened, I'm glad they dealt with it by having Harm adopting her. Now with Mac, she'll have two parents to help and guide her, and we can see that Harm was a man of his word to the end. (NT) -- Cece. This is the Harm Mac loves. She knew that Mattie was part of the package., 14:07:10 05/02/05 Mon

I didn't like the way Mattie ended up either. I have no problem with her being with H/M but the whole disability thing wasn't necessary. Harm could have gotten her back by Tom drinking again just as easily. (NT) -- Angela S, 14:39:07 05/02/05 Mon

I agree, it wasn't necessary to have something bad happen. Did we ever know if Mattie had a severed spinal cord or "damage?" If it's the later, there is a large body of work going on now, things have jumped ahead quiet a bit since CR was paralyzed ten or so years ago. So, if you want to think that after much hard work and rehab she could function fairly well on her own, you might not be so far from the truth if it's the later not the former. They never actually said how much damage there was. The last I remember the doctor saying was that they had to wait to see what happened when "the swelling went down." So potentially, she could make a pretty good recovery after rehab. The thing is, that whole story was so unreal, it wasn't funny. I have one brother who's a doctor, another who's a neurophysiologist, and they say that she'd have been airlifted almost immediately to a hospital with a major trauma center in real life. I stubbornly believe that Mattie will fully recover!!! ;) I still do not understand the purpose of this storyline.... This is one of the most unaccetable JAG storyline for me. (NT) -- Acer, 20:11:28 05/02/05 Mon
