Subject: What do you think was behind these lines of dialogue!. . .Inside

Just wanted everyone's input on some of the lines spoken between H/M during the last few minutes. These are such great lines and subject to more than one interpretation. We know Mac was the one to come to Harm. I agree that the ball was in her court and as soon as Mac gave Harm the slightest opening he told her how he felt. What do you think was behind these lines:

1. Harm: "Mac, we have 12 hours." - Was he saying they had 12 hours to be with each other and (as far as he could tell at that point) that was all they would have together? Was he saying they had 12 hours to get decisions made? Was he putting the ball back in Mac's court to be more specific about what she wanted?

2. Harm: "I guess maybe I just needed a deadline." He had tried let Mac know how he felt (although not successfully a la Mac's line about being a mindreader). I mean all from Lifeline to Paraguay to the numerous references to the baby promise, etc., etc. I think he had tried many times before this supposed "deadline."

3. Mac: "Well, you got one sailor." Did she mean a deadline for them to spend the time they had left together or time to profess his love for her or a deadline to make it permanent.

4. Mac: "What are you proposing?" Was she still somewhat uncertain that he would ask for a commitment so she was letting him know that she was ready? Could she possibly have wondered if he was just referring to the 12 hours they had left and that was all for now, thus the question?

I just thought these last few minutes were glorious, not quite enough, but well written and beautifully acted. I'm not sure that the feeling of love and respect we saw played out could be "fake" acted. I hope it is a reflection of the feelings DJE and CB have for each other (not romantically) but as collegues and friends. It makes my heart a little warmer to think that anyway.
