Yes, I believe he would have gone to her one more time before leaving for London, just to let her know that nothing had changed, he was still there for her. But, like you, I'm glad it played out the way it did. He let her know he wanted to be a part of her life in H&FI, he let her know he was still there when she was ready in H&FII and then he let her know that nothing had changed in 4% (hope I got my episodes right). The ball has been in her court for a while, I'm glad she went to him. And I'm glad he finally said the words and caught the girl. *smile* (NT) -- HiG loving a Happy Harm, 10:30:33 05/02/05 Mon

I agree - I think he would have given it one last shot by going to Mac. But I think Mac ABSOLUTELY had to go to Harm given her belief that he onlyshows interest in her when she has one foot out the door. He told her to come to him when she was ready. I think she has been ready, evident in that she tried once but Alicia was crowding the nest. But one thing I keep coming back to is the open door at Harm's apartment...Is it subtle symbolism? His door was open and ready for her to enter? Or am I spending too much time thinking about the door (and the finale in general ; ) ? (NT) -- chicago theresa, 10:40:10 05/02/05 Mon

I needed her to go to him for my own peace of mind. Harm needed her to come to him after all he'd told her about "I'm here when you're ready" "Nothing has changed" etc. Harm did step up to the plate quickly. That whole line about never feeling for anyone else the way he feels for her was beautiful. What a way to open! (NT) -- Angela S, 10:40:24 05/02/05 Mon

And the fact that he asked her if SHE understood what that meant. No more chance misunderstanding between them. If she had said no I think he would have expalined it to her just to make sure she knew what she meant to him. (NT) -- David, 10:44:57 05/02/05 Mon

I still don't think Mac got it because he was trying to tell her he loved her without saying the words and she went off talking about how come they couldn't work it out. (NT) -- Linda, 17:14:31 05/08/05 Sun

I love the way he handled that scene...initially his back was facing back and then he slowly turned as he finished the sentence. total harm moment.... (NT) -- chicago theresa, 10:45:55 05/02/05 Mon

I loved when he looked at her and said "Do you understand?" and you know the rest of that sentance was "just how much I love you?" (NT) -- Cherie, 11:22:21 05/02/05 Mon
I'm not so sure that he would have gone back. He has always given Mac her space and when he went to talk to her about "real estate" and the conversation turned to the changes they were facing, he looked pretty shaken when Mac said she'd been dreading it but now that it was here, it wasn't so bad. The look on his face was enough make you cry, I know I got choked up. It was definitely Mac's place to pursue. So glad she did and Harm didn't back down...sigh. (NT) -- BlueJay, 10:45:47 05/02/05 Mon

I agree, Chief, the ball was definitely in Mac's court. If it was two years ago or before, IMO, it would have been in Harm's court. I, too, was thrilled with what she did. I kept saying I needed to hear the L word from her and it would have been nice but her actions spoke much louder then words. (NT) -- judi, 11:01:36 05/02/05 Mon

Her actions definitely spoke louder then words...I don't remember seeing Mac so happy and cuddling before. They were definitely hand on. (NT) -- BlueJay, 11:08:33 05/02/05 Mon

I agree she was never that comfortable or happy with anyone else. When she said she was lucky to the bartender that for me was her saying I love you. Just the tone of voice and her face showed she was totally and completely in love and happy. (NT) -- Hope, 11:20:48 05/02/05 Mon

I’m not sure if he would have gone or not. Especially after flashing back to the beach scene. He knew Mac needed to be ready and until she was nothing he could do. And I was glad after she remember that same conversation she went over and got right to the point and so glad Harm didn’t back down. It was perfect they were finally on the same page at the same time. (NT) -- Hope, 11:06:39 05/02/05 Mon

I believe he would have gone to her once again - but I don't think he would have broached the subject first. I really think he was waiting to hear that she was ready to discuss their relationship. That's why I don't think he brought it up on his first visit. He made up a reason to get there so that she would have the opportunity to talk if she was ready. You don't need a face to face to discuss real estate. (NT) -- Carrotts, 12:07:12 05/02/05 Mon

Reading these post something just struck me: Harm and Mac have changed approaches to their relationships. Harm was always the one that let his actions speak for him, and Mac was the one that used words. This time Harm said the words and Mac let her actions speak for her. I can't believe I never saw it earlier. (NT) -- David, 12:12:01 05/02/05 Mon

I noticed too and I guess that was exactly what they needed to do to make it work since doing it the same way for the last 9 years hadn’t. (NT) -- Hope, 12:20:22 05/02/05 Mon

I'm not so sure Chief...He had already gone to her place and all he had been able to get out was talk about subletting their apartment. I think He NEEDED it for be her who came to him. Too many doors had been slammed in his face. I dont hink he was going to do it again. Mac had to know when he showed up at her apartment it wasnt about subletting...she just, for whatever reason couldnt bridge the gap either...I am really glad she came to him...it makes all the other stuff we heard from her this year alot easier to take. (NT) -- mkim, 12:12:49 05/02/05 Mon

Im with you Chief and most of the ladies and David here. Harm would have gone back but this shows us how far both have come together. They were always on each others minds and finishing each others thoughts. After Mikey it also deepened Harm's determination. But it evens them out. He came to her and she came to him and they live happily ever after. (NT) -- Rena, 13:31:28 05/02/05 Mon

IMHO I felt it was the first time Harm didn't back away when Mac brought up the subject of them. In fact he met her head on. I loved to finally see it. (NT) -- cleo, 22:54:07 05/03/05 Tue

I loved the way that Harm referred back to "fate" like in the "What If" episode. And the fact that he came up with the resolution to the problem. It just showed that he wanted it badly! (NT) -- Linda, 17:18:46 05/08/05 Sun

Also, Mac's flashback to Harm walking away from her on the beach saying "let me know when you are ready", I think it jolted her into reality that she had to go to him this time don't you guess?(NT)-- Anne1, 18:13:11 05/08/05 Sun

this was the last flashback; the beach one and it had the most significance for Mac. Harm HAD approached her in H&F (1 &II) and she had turned him away. The ball was in her court. She finally saw that. (NT) -- Nan, 18:47:40 05/08/05 Sun

We keep mentioning the look on mac's face at the bar when she said how lucky she was - how about the look on harm's face - wow - i was about to melt! (NT) -- iflynavy, 19:22:18 05/08/05 Sun

Yes iflynavy the look Harm gave Mac was meltdown city. (NT) -- nonshipper, 19:55:24 05/08/05 Sun
