See, I *always* call Tails, b/c in my experience, Tails wins the most often. So, my first thought when she called Tails was that she really wanted to win LOL (NT) -- greyst12, 13:23:10 05/14/05 Sat

I don't know. I think they were both so willing to give it up for the other. I mean, you can make an excellent case for either one leaving. Harm has very close to 20 years (within weeks) so he could retire. Mac wants kids, and might not want to be in such a demanding career if she was going to push to get pregnant. So, I don't think either planned to lose or win, it was just what fate dealt them. (NT) -- CM>^.,.^<, 13:46:17 05/14/05 Sat

I'm with the Cat Mama...I don't think it mattered...I think the only thing Mac wanted to lose was maybe her underwear....preferabley on Harm's head..... (NT) -- Abby Normal.....(If I had to guess---Creswell steps in and reasigns them.....way too valuable to just one of them step away...JMHO), 02:28:17 05/15/05 Sun

What I am most curious about is in their past coin tosses what did she always call. If it was tails and she always lost than could be she wanted to lose this time or maybe thought her luck had to finally change. Does anyone know for sure what she chose in those other coin tosses? (NT) -- Hope, 13:47:40 05/14/05 Sat

Someone posted two weeks ago that in previous coin tosses Mac had choosen heads. Can't testify myself 'cause I don't remember but the eps were Tribunal and Silent Service (I think). (NT) -- clr, 14:07:46 05/14/05 Sat

Okay, I watched them both (thank God for TiVo) and in Tribunal Mac chose Heads and it came up Tails. In Silent Service she chose Tails and it came up Heads. (NT) -- Barbie, 14:20:54 05/14/05 Sat

Thanks Barbie. I guess she probably just chose one not really caring which way it came up since it didn’t matter as long as they were together. (NT) -- Hope, 14:23:58 05/14/05 Sat

My thoughts exactly. In my mind they'll always be together and now matter how it comes out they both win. (NT) -- Barbie, 14:36:01 05/14/05 Sat

She might have wanted to "win" so she could "lose." She might have wanted to give it up for Harm, knowing she'd won the toss and could make that decision. But really I think that they were both so happy being together, and felt that whatever fate threw at them, they could face it together. (NT) -- Cece (I just tossed a Canadian quarter 7 times. It came up tails the first 6 times., 13:53:03 05/14/05 Sat

I do not know.... If it were me, no matter what I called, I would lose. Maybe, that was a trait of Mac, too ;)! Ha! Ha!! Well, I guess it does not matter. As many have pointed out, they are both willing to give up for the other. (NT) -- Acer..... who never won any lottery or coin toss!!, 14:16:15 05/14/05 Sat

Here's a practical question I was wondering about the other day (although who really wants to be practical about H/M finally getting together!). Would it make a big difference financially which one gave up their career? Seems like with Harm being promoted it would be better if he kept his career. I think secretly Mac would be more ready to give up her job if she had to, but since I live in Jag lala land, my thinking is that the Marines wouldn't want to let such a fine legal mind go to waste so they'd find a place for Mac somewhere if she wanted...and everyone lives happily ever after!!! (NT) -- JO (I think I'm getter *more* hooked, not less, as time goes by...I guess that's called addicted!), 15:32:44 05/14/05 Sat

I think finances are going to be the least of their problems. Either is capable of earning a very good living as a lawyer if they want to. And the romantic in me hopes that it really doesn't matter to either of them who wins or loses the coin toss, because they both win by being together. (NT) -- NanaSue, 16:22:48 05/14/05 Sat

Actually, it would be more financially advantagous for Harm to retire. His new 06 pay (when he gets it, frocking doesn't count for $$-you don't get paid for the new rank until your DOR) would be more than Mac's as an 05, his retirement pay PLUS her pay as an 05 would amount to more total. But as NS said, I don't think it really matters. Not only can either of them make a great deal more than they did in the military, Harm's family isn't exactly poverty stricken. I have a feeling there are a few $$ in a trustfund somewhere. (NT) -- CM>^.,.^< also, two single officers who are away on per diem as much as the two of them likely had a few bucks stashed away, 18:45:07 05/14/05 Sat

Have you ever taken statistics? Coin tosses are random events with two possible outcomes each having 50/50 chance. Heads does NOT win alot more often than tails. In a statistically valid sample size, it will win 50% of the time. (NT) -- t.c., 17:34:55 05/14/05 Sat
