Subject: Why Do You Classify Author: Brandie [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] Date Posted: Tuesday, December 31, 12:53:42am Author Host/IP: 152.163.189.98 I don't understand why the so called "punks", "preps", "goths", "sk8rs", "freaks", and so forth want to make other people feel bad by calling them so called "posers" I don't understand why anyone would be a "poser" unless they blankly said that they skated when everyone knew that they weren't. I have been called a "poser" many of times. I don't understand why I would be a poser....I don't claim to skate.....I just dress punk b/c I LOVE their music. I have tried to sk8 but I can't. I just too much of a klutz! I only dress punk b/c of the music. I love how they are themselves and they don't care what people think. I have tried to fit in with the so called "preppies" but I felt like I was denying my true self. I do feel that a part of me is prep....but that's my personality. I like to wear what I like and I love punk style. I feel that the way I dress has nothing to do with me. I know that most people classify me as a punk wannabe or whatever but I really don't care. I dress how I want and I listen to the things I like. I listen to music .....mostly punk...but I also listen to Nick Carter....J-Lo...Britney...Kenny Chesney...and all that. I don't understand why I would be a poser when I don't claim to sk8. I do not pose to be punk. I am actually punk b/c I love all punk music. My favorite band is Good Charlotte. I also like....MxPx..NFG..Simple Plan...the Used...Metallica....Nirvana...SECOND BEST. my friends Band..ummm and alot of other ones that I can't really name b/c I can't remember right off hand. I don't claim to be punk....I am punk and I hope that everyone realizes that if u are a punk..then you are ur true self and u don’t care if u piss people off. I do like to be liked by other people but I do not want them to like me for the wrong reasons. I am usually a fun person and people usually like to be around me but some people don’t like me b/c they CLASSIFY! Many people are probably wondering why I am writing this and I would like to answer that question with a simple answer. I want to know why people want to classify other people to make them feel bad. I have asked myself that question many many times but I can’t seem to find the answer until now. I know why people want to classify people. It’s so simple!! It’s pure and total…….IGNORANCE!! With this forward, I ask for only one thing….think! I want you to think about what u are doing by calling someone a “poser”…..are u making anything else besides a problem? Me as a punk would like to say this and only this. Life is too short for you to hate……as one will smith song titles “Just the Two Of Us” says….”Let god deal with the things they do cause’ hate in ur heart will comsume you too.” People….love every person. Even though they don’t look or act like you….they still have a heart….just like you so…instead of looking for the imperfections..look for the perfections.
