The next day Melanie had just finished a short jumping lesson. She pulled Princess up and dropped the reins. "Good girl," she murmered. "Yeah, ya'll were both good!" Bagsden replied. Melanie looked up suddenly. Bagsden led Rosie over and mounted. "Want to go for a trail ride?" "Sure, Princess still has plenty of spunk!" Melanie grinned. She gathered the reins. "C'mon." They picked up trots and headed off through the pasture. After following a winding trail and splashing through a stream, they halted their horses and jumped off. Melanie tied up Princess and the mare grazed beside Rosie. Melanie ran over to the stream and knelt beside it, running her hands through the clear, clean water. Bagsden joined her and she splashed him playfully.
"So. My sister has a horse show this week. Want to come with me to watch?" "A show on Pride?" Bagsden asked, admiring the way the golden rays of sunlight shone on Melanie's silky blonde hair. "No. She's riding a Saddlbred for some people. It'll be fun," she begged, widening her sparkling green eyes. "PLEEEASE?" "Ok, ok," Bagsden laughed.
