PROPOSAL FOR SPADES LADDER
ROUGH DRAFT

I. REVERT TO ORIGINAL CASES RULES SET WHEN LADDER WAS STARTED.
Benefits of this would include the lattitude to add to a basic concept and design to meet the current needs of the ladder community.Also to save time having to vote out unpopular rules.To give the advantage of a clean slate so to speak.Also, allowing for the the chance to make things simple again so we can enjoy our game!Would also allow the committees to not to have to try to make a silk purse out of a sows ear.
II.RESET ALL RANKS WHILE MAINTAINING CURRENT STATISTICS.
Benefits of this would include a movement of the ladder.It would also give everyone a "true" shot at the top and a chance to maintain it if they desired.
III.KEEP RULES COMMITTEE AND SUBCOMMITTEE INTACT TO DESIGN THE LADDER WITH THE DIRECT INPUT OF THE LADDER COMMUNITY.
Don't kill the messengers. the rules are going to have to be tailored to fit our needs-these committees are already intact and ready to go.Lets give this a chance.

If this proposal were accepted, it would throw out all rules except for a basic set of general rules.While this would simplify things greatly, it would definitely need to be adapted to our needs.
The one thing that will have to be remembered is to keep things simple--with fairness of rules considered above all else.
The things we should concentrate on are--rank manipulation, cheating, rules violations,punishment for rules violations.
Anyway, thats a general synopsis of what I feel we should do at this time, but there again, am willing to do what the ladder calls for.

The one lesson I believe we learned is, we have to vote. If we don't vote on these issues, then we don't have the right to complain.

I would appreciate the feedback to see what type of support this would have.
