Subject: Al'Thaes and the two men talking.

"Well," Dixian states, "I don't know exactly how much of our conversation you overheard, but I suspect even you must have heard some of the rumours coming from Riparia, the continent across the Marble Sea?" The conclusion of the last sentence appeared to be half a question and half a statement.
"At any rate," Dixian continues, "there is much talk about strange forces emerging there lately and many people are suffering from a strange veil of darkness that seems to have decended upon the lands there. Or so I have heard at any rate." he finishes weakly.
Ophan nods, his face looking grim.
"Aye. I too have heard stories... some of them too wild to be true, about demons, trolls -no offense-, goblins undead armies and all kinds of other dark things wrecking havoc all through Riparia. And what's worse, there seems to be a force controlling these creatures, so it's not just random destruction but the hordes are striking with planned accuracy."
He looks at Al'Thaes.
"I just came from a port town called Loke, two days travel west of here, where I spoke to a trader captain that often does business with Riparian businessmen. He swore to me that his ship was attacked by a group of harpies on the way back to Mae Luctor. If this is true, I wonder if the Marble sea is vast enough to keep these things at bay, or will our continent be next to suffer under the veil of darkness?"
Suddenly, Dixian's expression changes and he eyes the huge half troll suspiciously.
"Ophan," he says, "I know this troll hasn't killed us yet, but what reason have we to trust him? You just said yourself, that trolls also work for the darkness. How do we know he's not in league with the devil as well?"
Ophan looks at Al'Thaes.
"That's right, now that I think of it. How do we know we can trust you?
