Subject: The lone girl (Al'Thaes)

ooc: Nice roleplaying, I like that. :)

ic:
phan looks at Al'Thaes.
"You sure 'bout that?" he asks, looking at the little girl and back at Al'Thaes again. "She'll slow us down a lot..."
He sighs. "But I agree, leaving her here might well be her death sentence. I'd never forgive myself if I heard later she died and I could have done something to prevent it."
Al'Thaes nods and picks up the little girl with great ease, even though he only has one good leg. Moving with the crutch in one hand and the motionless girl in the other proves difficult, but doable if he keeps her pressed against him.
Meanwhile, Ophan had walked around the wagon and suddenly Al'Thaes can hear him inhale sharply between his teeth.
"I think you'd better come see this friend," Ophan's voice comes from behind the wagon, "I think I know what shook this girl up so badly..."
As Al'Thaes walks around the wagon, the first thing he notices is the stench. It's a very familiar smell to the huge half giant. It's the smell of death.
A moment later, this is followed by the sight of death.
Scattered behind the wagon are four people, all very obviously dead. Two are adults, a man and a woman, possibly the parents. The other two are children, at least, judging by their size. All four have been massacred with brutal force. The man's head is almost entirely severed from his body, the woman has numerous huge, gaping gashes in her sides, back and arms and the children are mutilated even worse. Crowes and a few ravens are already busy helping themselves to the flesh of the dead people.
"Looks like that monk wasn't lying," Ophan suddenly says, "In my book, this qualifies as particularly nasty."
He turns away from the sight of the dead bodies for a moment before asking: "Do you think we should bury them? I don't feel much like leaving them here, but if those guys decide to come back, we're liable to end up like these unfortunate strangers..."
