Subject: Joran's trial commences
In reply to: Gornul 's message, "Re: Amidala, the faery queen. (Joran and trial group)" on 19:38:39 10/03/00 Tue

ueen Amidala looks at Joran, confusion showing on her face.
"Who is this other person you talk about?" she asks him, looking around the clearing to see if there's anyone there she missed.
She turns to Imidin, who's looking at Joran as he would at a madman.
"He was alone here when I found him your majesty," he solemnly states, "maybe there's another human nearby that we didn't notice yet?"
"Take a look around," queen Amidala orders a nearby faery. If there's another supposed offender here, he should join this one in the trial."
The faery nods and flies off.
"While we wait for your friend to join us," the queen says, "we can commence with your trial. You say you plead not guilty, do you?" She sighs. "As unfair as it may seem to you human, ignorance of a culture's customs is not an acceptable excuse in these lands. So no, I'm affraid you can't take him with you yet," she adds to the elves standing behind Joran, "He has broken one of our sacred rules and should be punished."
She turns her gaze to the stump.
"I think I'm beginning to understand what happened here," Amidala says to no one in particular. Her eyes settle on Joran again. "Human, do you think this is just a stump of a tree?" She smiles faintly. "What would you say if I told you that there in fact is an entire castle at that very location? You see, we've found that hiding from you mundane races allows us to go about our business undisturbed, that is why we've hidden our castle and our homes from normal eyes. For a moment, I will show you what your eyes yet can not behold."
Queen amidala waves her hand in a slow horizontal motion, a few sparks of bluish light coming from her fingertips as she does so. Before the eyes of the four strangers, the outlines of a huge tree begin to appear out of thin air, vague at first, but becoming more clear quickly. Kripp takes a breath of air in surprise as the sheer magnitude of the faery castle is displayed before them. The tree seems to be at least 150 feet tall and amongst it's branches, countless small buildings have been attached to it, nearly all made from wood and stone. No bridges or ropes are visible, but since faeries can fly, that would make sense, Gornul thinks to himself in silence.
"Wow," Joran says softly and whistles to indicate he's impressed, staring up at the tree at the base of which he stands.
Amidala softly claps her hands and in the blink of an eye, the tree and everything in it seem nothing more than a very large stump in the ground again.
"You," the queen suddenly says, pointing a tiny finger at Gornul and Kripp, "You say the world is in danger? And you need this human here to help you save it? I would like to hear some more about this. Forgive me, but right now, this sounds like a far fetched tale to me."
"And you, human, I've heard Imidin's version of what happened here. Please tell us how you stumbled upon this clearing and what you did when you came here. I want to hear both sides of this story before I cast judgment."
