This is a very interesting question to me!

OTOH, I do think that most porn being produced today is sexist and misogynistic. I also think that objectifying sex in and of itself is problematic--I think that those who overconsume porn risk losing the emotional aspects of a sexual relationship and treating it as something kinky and mechanical. I don't know that this is inherently harmful, either, but I do think it's missing one of the most satisfying aspects of a sexual, committed relationship.

I haven't been impressed thus far by what I have seen of "feminist porn" (which admittedly isn't much! I'd have to say it's exclusive to "Bubbles Galore" which was actually more of a feminist satire of the porn industry than a real attempt at women-centred pornography.

I also haven't sampled the written porn out there (do you think the library carries it??? :-) but I think that of all forms of porn, this is the least exploitative.

This brings me to my last critique of the porn industry, and the one which I find most disturbing--I understand that most of the women in the porn industry are habitual drug users who are supporting their habit by performing sex acts on film. This is degrading regardless of how egalitarian the plotline might be, and even if I felt good about consuming feminist porn, if it exploited weak women, I'd still have to shun it for moral and political reasons.
