I think the crying went on for atleast 2 days. I can't think about it too much actually. The people on tv did seem to feel bad/sick about not doing anything. But Astrid is right. The kids probably were left to cry a lot "normally".
And who knows, maybe we don't want neighbours who call the police everytime they hear crying--I'd definitely have had them out regularly when my oldest daughter was a baby. Its just a sad, sad situation.
