OMG. This is SO awful. What a blooming idiot! To make matters worse, most federal judicial districts (including the 9th Circuit, from which the Pledge ruling issued) are suffering from a severe shortage of judges. Cases are languishing, and some judges have been unable to take retirement at age 70 because of the workload.

And this "litmus test" is especially stupid because most of the cases in federal courts are VERY pedestrian--most of the criminal cases are garden-variety drug dealing, and a lot of the civil cases are Title VII discrimination cases or personal injury cases (in fed ct based on diversity of citizenship) or habeas actions by prisoners (the last-ditch process to contest their convictions--about one in a hundred or more is granted). Yep, ya really need faith in God to move those cases along...:-P

Does this nimrod know how RARELY any case with huge moral questions comes up?? Like, almost never!

Blech, blech, blech.

Then again, I've been ashamed of our judicial system ever since the Supreme Court turned into a bunch of whores in Bush v. Gore ("yes, I've made a career out of clamoring for state's rights, but this guy's going to give my kid a job"--Scalia)
