This time, I did not say anything about the person, nor imply that I was. I merely stated the facts. He was giving me some sort of irrational statement. So I gave him the statistics that demonstrated that his was a false statement. I tried to give calm & rational examples of what I meant, and he took offence. I think, someone would have to be pretty thin-skinned to take such offence.

Perhaps it was the subject matter. The British appear to be more even close-minded then Americans when it comes to examining & discussing religion and politics.

Some people say: 'Don't discuss religion and politics.'

They say that because they don't want to think about anything of real importance in life. It makes them angry and afraid. To me, that makes absolutely no sense.
