Of course it is. All addictions are. You'll just have to fight and not give up. The trick is . . . CONSISTANCY. You have to keep at your routine. That means keep up your exercising routine & find a hobby that you can do to keep your mind off of TV. If you're really going for the goal, quit cold turkey. Put the TV away. However, if you can't do that, avoid it as much as possible. If someone else is watching it, do something else. If it still bothers you, go outside. Take a walk, visit some friends or neighbours, take the dog if you have one (or offer to walk your neighbour's dog!).

These things you tell about are good signs that you are 'coming to life' again, out of the 'blue glow' catatonia.

It's a daily battle. It is a struggle within one's self. But once you find other ways to fill your time & rejuvinate your mind, body, and spirit, interest in the televised world should become very dull & ridiculous in comparison to your new 'real life'. Try to encourage the others in your family by leading an example of what can be accomplished when one is not fixated on the television for endless hours. They may come around, but even if they don't, you will have gained something (a life), and just remember, you cannot CHANGE anyone . . . but you CAN influence them.
