thanks ken! i was sitting here thinking, do i dare identify myself as a non-news watcher? i know people think as intelligent human beings, we need to know what is on the news, but i see it as a great source of concentrated ugliness in the world. a more realistic view of the world can be obtained by ignoring the news whenever possible. and like you said, with friends it is often, not possible. when something is huge, like 9-11
... you still can't NOT know... i still have a t.v. because of my family... so i confess i watched 9-11... it was horrible, especially after being away from the horror of t.v. for so long, but i'm glad it was horrible. i would never want to be desensitized to the violence. senseless killing and inflicting pain SHOULD make one gasp! as for me i'm grateful to avoid the news, though i sometimes pay for it at work.
