one of the phenomenon of t.v. addiction, i think, is drug addiction. like video games we become addicted to our own adrenalin. i think the left behind series has enough excitement in it to give mild doses to the readers, and that may account for some of it's popularity in these times.

of course, there are life experiences that do the same. it's just finding the activities and making them happen. my daughter went white river rafting, with youth group. both teens went back-packing up a huge mountain. we all love the beaches in san diego... especially jumping waves.
