Sometimes I brag about not watching t.v. but not to people who I know won't get it, it's usually to people who at least recognize that t.v. is not one of the more refined forms of entertainment. But very often I end up in a situation where someone will try to talk about a t.v. show, and I won't have a clue what they're talking about. It seems like some sense of security that they have to be the one the knows the most pop-culture trivia. Yeah they'll act as if I'm stupid because I don't know stuff about t.v. trivia much of the time, they might even say something like 'have you been in a cave all your life?' I just kind of shrug my shoulders, am I supposed to feel stupid? They're the ones living in a cave, that never get out and experience life. I'm glad to not be able to participate in this sort of thing, people have nothing left to talk about except other fictional (and generally shallow) lives that they see on t.v. I'm glad that any conversation with me is thereby forced to be about real life.
