If one reads the article a bit more closely they will see that the banana's problems are because of selective breeding, that created the fuit that we today know as the banana, but which never actually existed in nature. So organic is not an issue when you have a plant that cannot reproduce, alter itself through adaptation, or fight off disease. In our rush to improve the world around us, the inability to stop and consider the future consequences has been mankind's most consistent failure.
