Subject: Color Genetics

Im a first time horse breeder and most places I look they dont have much on paint horse possibilities.

My mare is a Red Roan Overo her Sire was a Bay Overo and her Dam was a Red Roan Overo. Past that the grandparents were a Bay Overo, Black Overo,Sorrel, and Sorrel Overo.

The stallion is a Black Tobiano, his Sire was a Black Solid and the Dam was a Black Tobiano past that the grandparents were Sorrel,Brown,Black Tobiano and Black Tobiano.

The stallion so far has thrown paints but no black color yet my mare is the first paint that he is bred to,could that help my possibilities of getting a black and white? Or what about a Tri-Color?

My mare has thrown a Sorrel Tobiano Overo but that was before I had her so i dont know much on the stallion.

One other question my mare has the bald face and medicine cap what are the odds of that passing through to the baby? I know thats alot but i really could use the help the wait is to long. Thanks for any help you could give.
