I know this is a late response and hopefully you get it. My Thoroughbred gelding was afraid too. Afraid to be next to them, afraid to be out with them. Eventually I put him out with 5 broodmares who had been out with cattle in the past. A bull was put out with them, and there was a cattle herd next to them. He ran around at first, but once he realized the mares didn't care, he didn't either. And once he learned he could actully bully the bull, he seemed almost proud of himself! Now where he is there is a cattle herd next to him, and he doesn't care a thing about them! I think they keep him company when his horse pals aren't around!
