Subject: The climb back up

{The scene opens up at the taping of the UWF syndicated wrestling program, “UWF Late Nite.” As the matches proceed, standing backstage, reading the schedule for tonight is Ghost Dancer. The monitor is beside him, playing the matches that is happening in the ring right now. Many hopefuls sit around the monitor, watching their respected peers in action. Ghost Dancer drops the schedule on the table and heads for the entranceway, to get some instructions from one of the road agents. As Ghost Dancer approaches the road agent, all of the sudden, Sean Sullivan steps out of a blackened area. Ghost Dancer gives Sullivan a look of disgust.}

Sean Sullivan: Hold on there, G.D! I know that you want to kick my @ss…hell, you can kick my @ss, and there is no doubt about that. But I know that you wont do it, because I am only doing my job…and that is to HELP YOU GET OVER! G.D, before you say anything, just think about this for a moment. With the right gimmick, you can go straight to the top! Your name will be on everyone’s lips…even people who don’t watch wrestling.

Ghost Dancer: First off Sullivan, call me Ghost Dancer or don’t call me anything at all. And the UWF legal department had already contacted me about when I chased you through the corporate headquarters. But I really don’t have any time to talk to you right now. I hope that either you read or someone has told you that I have a promo to cut for my match against Pantera on Thursday.

Sean Sullivan: I know, and that is why I am only going to drop this off. (Reaches off-camera and comes back in the camera’s view with a t-shirt) Look, this is your first official UWF signature series T-shirt…for all your fans out there. What I need from you is to wear the shirt in your interview tonight, so the fans can view the shirt, then flood our website to buy the shirt.

{The road agent gives Ghost Dancer the signal that they are ready and for him to head to the ring. Ghost Dancer takes the t-shirt from the hands of Sullivan and walks up the staircase. When Ghost Dancer gets out of view of Sean Sullivan, he drapes the t-shirt over the metal railing and proceeds to the entranceway. Over the sound system, Rage against the Machine’s, “Freedom” plays and Ghost Dancer bursts through the curtain. The fans get up to their feet and cheer for him. On the backstage monitor, the camera is shown panning the arena, the fans are doing the tomahawk chop, and Sean Sullivan is smiling. Ghost Dancer makes his way to the ring and gets the open microphone from the ring announcer. Ghost Dancer scans the jam-packed house; a slight smile comes to his lips, liking what he sees. Thousands of fans are doing the tomahawk chop. Ghost Dancer raises the open microphone to his lips and addresses the crowd.}

Ghost Dancer: One loss only slows down the inevitable, not stop it. It is a shame that I did not go further in the tournament, that when the dust settles, I will not be holding the ultimate prize. I might not have the honor to be the FIRST ULTIMATE CHAMPION…but I will be the Ultimate champion, it will just take me a little bit longer. And the people that I have to thank for my prolonged quest is people like Cortez, Ramadan, Raheem, and Matt Reid! Reid, I will say this, you shall be my first victim in my warpath of vengeance! Reid, you should have taken me out, you should have done so much damage to me, that I would have no choice but to retire, but you did not. And that is your fatal mistake! You just couldn’t get the job done. They say that we learn from our mistakes, if that is true, then you have a lot to learn, Reid. Now for the three thugs who stuck their noses to where it did not belong. I saw your little promo, I heard your boast and brags…did you really think that it would scare me away. That three ignorant pieces of crap that can spout racial slurs would have me scared? It takes no talent what so ever to attack someone’s nationality. It is hard for me to believe that some people actually call you creative. You three make me sick to my stomach, not only for myself and to any one with Native American blood in them, but any one who had to struggle against the ignorance of racism. Racism is a thought process that cannot be backed up by anything logical. But I digress; I do have more important subjects to talk about. But just one last thing, Cortez, Raheem, and Ramadan, I will be getting around to kick your @sses shortly.
It would seem that the bookers in the UWF have booked me in a match against Pantera, one of the best female wrestlers on the circuit today. I have had the pleasure of watching her matches before and I am really impressed by how she can handle herself in the ring, not against other women, but against men. I will admit that you do have an advantage over me. This is the first time that I have stepped into the ring against a woman before. But Pantera, what you have to understand is that I pull no punches, I do not soften the impact of any maneuver that I execute, be it a man…or woman. In your own words, is that you are glad to be facing a wrestler. Well, I am glad that you think of me as a wrestler, but I am really much more than that, I am a true professional in this sport. I am a throw back to the days of shooters…or hookers as they were also called. Many wrestlers in this sport is just flash, without any substance to back them up…like the above people that I have mentioned. But Pantera, when you step in the ring with me, you will be facing a battle-hardened veteran who has traveled the globe, bettering himself. What I do is not for the fame, nor is it for the women, nor is it for the money, but it is my quest to be the best. I would do this even for free if I had to. That is what separates myself from the rest of the wrestlers in the UWF promotion. While their bottom line is always the next paycheck, my bottom line is always the last match that I have fought. Pantera, you are right, there will be no tough acting, ghetto talk, funny skits, or anything like that, and it is just I, talking from the heart, to you, about how I will beat you, pure and simple. While I do not doubt your skill, what I do doubt if you can really stand in the ring with me and take what I can dish out. During my career, I have faced many different kinds of opponents, from cruiserweights to super heavyweights and everything in between. You might try to confuse me with your highflying attack, but just remember this; it only takes on missed move to spell your downfall. All that I need to do is make sure that when you are going from me up high, is to knock you down to the mat. Then you are at my mercy. You might be a great mat technician, but I can guarantee to you, the mat is where I excel in! That is why I am a throwback to the days of the shooter! This match means a lot to both of us, this match means that we are clawing our way back up to the top. All that means is who really wants it more, that is all. Thursday will decide that for us, do I get sent back down the ladder of contention or do I move up?

{Ghost Dancer leaves the ring with the deafening roar of the fans behind him, doing the tomahawk chop. When Ghost Dancer walks through the curtain, to the backstage area, Sean Sullivan is there, does a tomahawk chop and gives him a “thumbs up.”}
