BIC: "The OldWays themselves are a way of life, a creed that the Killers are sworn to follow. OurWorld followed the OldWays long ago, but it fell to corruption and greed, and the OldWays were lost. This world still follows them, however. "The OldWays are inherent in the balances between everything... everything you see. Every part of the land is interconnected with each other; the plants, the earth, the animals, life itself. If anything were to be taken away from the web of balance, to be killed off, the effects could... would be disastrous. It is a very delicate balance, and that balance is called the OldWays, which Kmitza taught to her children. If the OldWays are ever killed, then life itself will slowly cease to exist." Sunflash pauses a moment, thoughtful. "This happened to OurWorld, the place of my birth. The luktai of OurWorld forgot the OldWays, forgot the importance of everything to the grand scheme. They drained the magick from the land, indiscrimately followed their every whim and their growing greed. and soon, the land began to die, wasting and growing barren in the wake of the death of the OldWays. The luktai forgot the balance that they had to honor above their very lives, and forgot how to respect everything else in the land, everything else in the web of life. They did not just tip the scales of balance, but destroyed them beyond repair..." Sunflash drops her gaze, but a slight, disbelieving smile crosses her face at her next thoughts, which evidently surprise even her. "I still miss it, though; little surprise, it is the land of my birth. Sometimes I long to see it again, long to walk there again in a way Kmitza never did, and long to hear my birthname spoken again, even if it still causes me the pain of nostalgia to hear it. I long to speak my native language again with someone who will understand it... for now even I am forgetting it, with no one to speak it to, no one to speak it to me." She seems finished with her talk of the OldWays, and now is apparently lost in reminisce. Rude Sunflash, boring everyone with her personal thoughts.
