Right off my first feeling was taht you are astralling in the hypnagogic state (the brain state prior to full REM sleep). My interpretation of lucid dreaming is a dream that you prepare and preplan each detail on how it will go, what will happen and where you will be. Astral projection to me is traveling around the astral in a half dream state but yet not quite dreaming, this is what Im feelig you are describing.

A dream journal is a great idea! Remember to keep a pad by the bedside and also one on the back of the toilet or arms length from the toilet since most of us usually hit the bathroom immediately upon wakign in the morning and by the time we get back to the journal at our bedside we have forgotten alot of it. Also in your journal dont try to write a sensible play by play account of the dream or experience. Jot down key words, scenes, colors, people, places, feelings, etc etc, One liners so to speak.

Never edit your journal from what you first write upon waking. You should notate the notes that are from seconds after waking and the ones you add on after your fully awake and think about what you are going to write.

It can be a pain not gettign a good sound restful sleep several nights in a row but always remember this ... Nobody ever died from lack of sleep ,,, they merely fell asleep eventually. LOL (someone told me that one day about my insomnia)

Love and light, Carol
