And entirely unrelated (of course)

It took me a long time to find this song so now you're all going to listen to it as well.

It's called "The Book I Write" by Spoon. I've never heard of them and I don't really enjoy the song. It just got stuck in my head since the first time I saw the movie and I caught the tail-end of it tonight and really enjoyed the film much more than I did the first time, which if you'll recall I did enjoy immensely though I didn't go over the top with it.

Well, now I'm ready to. Kylopod, I appreciate the connection you made between Maggie and the Brit. FUCK!!! What's her name?

At any rate, here's the song. It's one of those songs you'd associate with the harmless college type whose questioning of society is simply a part of the "college experience". The type who, upon graduation kicks around for maybe a summer before finding shelter in a meaningless job that quells whatever feelings of rebellion he had in college before leaving behind, once and for all, the ability to think critically.

But he also evokes feelings of powerful envy and isolated despair because this dude was fortunate enough to find a decent enough looking bitch that he got to fuck and that you wanted to (even if just for only one night and that night being a "Theme Night" designed for grudge fucks upon a Goth Light chick similar to Juno)

Now he can half-consciously drift through life and see movies like "Stranger than Fiction". Movies he'd never understand in a million years but it doesn't matter so long as he and his wife spent their Saturday Night proudly seeing such a quirky film that they can now esteem for a buzz while they sip their first of three Blue Moons as they continue to deny the lingering pains of ever-increasing dissatisfaction that they never had the courage to affront.

But who cares because now Spoon has helped him make the smooth transition from Gin Blossoms and all the other pussy alternative bands from the early nineties who incorporated pop into grunge. Granted, Nirvana may have been played on the radio and there's skaters, punks and other low-lifes out there who find me lame BUT at least Nirvana had something to say. And I'll fight the skater after we argue over the quality and scope of Nirvana's body of work. And I'll beat them mercilessly.

Will the Gin Blossom, quasi-critical thinker from his college days possess the will to assault me and my lunacy that is now erupting into his face? The answer is no. He doesn't pass the will...though he does possess the desire.

Here's the fucking song. And yes, I have forced myself to hate it. It was the right thing to do.
