I can 'finally' appreciate this GEM of a movie. When that fucker came out I was lost...PERIOD. And having to watch my main man Murray wander aimlessly in that miserable part of the world didn't make me feel any better.

Furthermore, movies like this PROVE that the military invokes a powerful method of doublethink that doesn't allow its government property to appreciate anything that isn't directly floating on the surface.

Coppolla made a great film and her opening sets the tone but when you're already depressed and under the constant assail of 19-year-old black kids who now think they run the world...well, you've got to stay tough so you can PUNK THEIR SHIT--GRACIE STYLE!!!

Needless to say everyone in my unit HATED 'Lost In Translation.' They found better success with "Karate Kid II" which was filmed in Okinawa. Savages.

But fuck them...for now...because I believe the central tenet of this bad-boy is that no matter how miserable you are stay true to who you are. Hence, that is sort of why you are miserable. You are a white American in this wierdo little country where grown man stare at porn on elevators and the entire city is a Chuck E. Cheese. Look at that FAGGOT Giovanni Ribisis: learning THEIR language and going with the flow on his semi-conscious level. He will never know true pain because he is a coward.

Murray and Johannsen suck it up and are willing to endure a brutal sojourn...but then JESUS helps them find each other. The rest is history.

Ribisi will continue to suck cock and is now learning Arabic.
