Like anything in life.....it's all what you put into it and what you decide to do with it. Training, competing and testing will always give you information. Although it's supposed to usually make the dog better than if you did nothing, sometimes it does burn you in the butt.....it has for me. And passing a test will only tell you that you passed. Training and working with the dog will tell you what you have. The more you do it, the more you will see, whether you're competing or not.
