Greetings all,

Two questions, two days, nothing, and now a flurry of posts to try to answer...where to begin?

So the answer is no, and no. Unfortunately so. Gordo does not have the nerve to make a reliable protection dog, and he certainly would not make it here in that capacity. I think it is politically inconvenient for Norman to describe in detail why I consider Gordo unsuitable, so, I will refrain from putting words to it also. I respect Norman. This was never intended to throw Norman under a bus. That said, Gordo’s new owner should be aware that when she gets up on her high horse about testing and training, nerve, health issues, and how everybody should follow her lead...or when she misrepresents a dog I produced, I will step up. She has lost any right to admonish those who show up here just to chat about their dog.

I hope Norman is right about the pups turning out...I would never have gambled on a breeding like this, but Normans opinion that the female would carry the load is reassuring. Correct me if I am wrong but I think that female came from Monumental? . I have met that Gentleman, (it is a small world) in fact, talked to him just the other day...I hope his genetics will prove to be the saving grace. He has put in his time. Which brings us to my next topic, how some of you can, with a dreamy look and reverent voice give Gordo’s new owner so much credit for what she has done for the breed? What? Are you serious? Posted some video? Let me shed some light on that for you while I am in the mood. She has repeatedly told us of the horrible ailments she fought in the last breed she dabbled in, and how she learned all of the steps to take to prevent this same calamity in our breed...and now that she has decided to dabble in our beloved Boerboel...her first breeding out of the gate she decides to use a stud-dog from MY kennel that has health and temperament problems?? Are you people AWAKE? Talk about a trend developing...somebody should cross-post. :)

It is obvious that one can fool a good many of the people on the boards, but when I see some old familiar faces I thought long-gone, and I know that they are still watching...it warms my heart. The damn shame of it is that, not so long ago Norman...you would have led the charge against poor choices like this one. You were once a champion for this breed. Funny how having a vested interest in something can skew perspective.

As to videos, Lee, Norman, Anthony, I love watching your videos, I have a stockpile myself...I just don’t want a cute pic, or an edited video to be the benchmark/hallmark for my program. As a trainer, or an enthusiast, videos are great...inundating a message board to elevate ones chance at selling your next litter of pups is disgraceful...take out an add. I can take Grandma’s Miniature Poodle and shoot you some video of a dog protecting from a car-jacking...but it would only fool a few of you.

Most of you know, I don’t come on here very often, I don’t normally meddle, I deplore stress and drama, I typically would not care what other breeders do, but this so-called breeder sniping the new members coming onto the board, bullying peers, the hypocrisy of it all, and then trying to do damage to the reputation of the guy, my friend, who provides this forum is just too much for me. All this in the name of helping the breed?? You gotta be kidding me.

Responsible breeders need to make responsible choices. Think back on all of the posts from all of the experts telling you the importance of screening against health problems, especially heritable ones...think back on all the times they told you the greatest issue of all was temperament. Now we want to split hairs? I have my opinion, you the reader of this board will have to decide what your opinion is.

DKH
