Hello again,
Sharon, nothing wrong with having an opinion or being a skeptic. I'm one of the biggest out there so I can understand. Although I don't agree with or follow the logic you used to make those points I understand the overall message.
Though I don't mind saying your words go beyond just being a skeptic...
My family, the people who have been involved and I have worked very hard at trying to establish a good reputation for our rescue and the network.
Its because of this I'll try and address your concerns.

1) I think that saying we are trying to be "anonymous" is a stretch. Yes I "limit" initial contact options, there is enough there to get the ball rolling. If a person has an interest in a dog that we have then they can email us, we then setup phone time. IF things go good they can come to our home and meet the dog.
I do it this way to protect my family and offer no apologies for that.
We only use the site to advertise the dogs, everything else is in person.
This applies only to the dogs we have and has nothing to do with what we are trying to do for the Boerboels.

Now as far as our courtesy postings or the postings for the Boerboels, this is whats on our adoption page as it has been since day one..

"Please don't contact us regarding information for either Courtesy listings or Boerboel listings as we won't have any information on them. You will need to contact the individual on the posting. Please contact us with information on Boerboels that need homes so we can get them posted. Also if you have any updated status on the posting please let us know."

2)So you intend to solicit donations to run a website?
Pretty offensive question Sharon...but I will answer anyway.
Absolutely NOT.
Our decision to apply for 501c status was for this reason.
It's only for the dogs we personally rescue and place.
It covers pound fee's to get them out, the vet cost, medication because the buggers are always sick when you get them and food. It also helps with spaying/neutering. On average we spend $300-700 per dog...all out of the family budget.
Its because of this we can only help one dog at a time, and I'm frustrated by that fact. I don't want to help one dog at a time, I want to help two, or three.
We have the fosters, the time and the ambition..we don't have the money. Truth be told we are going broke just doing what we do now.

Now on some of these other things you mention, no dis-respect intended Sharon, but the logic there is again a stretch and I can't justify the time to write a novel addressing them.
A complete read through of our web site and a bit of common sense should satisfy most...and of course...If you or anyone else had suggestions or concerns all you had to do was write us.

I came to this site because I heard that some people wanted to form a real rescue.
If a network rescue is going to become a reality then
the real issues need to be worked out.
From what I have seen so far the first big one is getting people to work together.
I really don't care who does what, as long as something is moving forward.

If and when any of you are ready to stop talking about a Boerboel Rescue and ready to start creating one then
look us up.
In the mean time, we'll be out helping dogs.
Respectfully.
Jerry - The Boerboel Network.

Oh yes...
I have one more very important question Sharon...
Do you REALLY think our web site is pretty????
LOL..
Take care..
